We can’t help but be inspired by runway season, especially in our own beloved city. New York is a flurry with long-legged models, street style darlings and gorgeous makeup and hair looks. Check out our favorites during 2014 New York Fashion Week and let us know yours!
Mirrored Mani at Delopozo
Pattie Yankee for Patricia Nail Lacquer created this metallic color exclusively for the Delpozo runway. We predict mirrored manicures will be one of the hottest nails trend this fall!
Makeup artist Val Garland for Temptu created a “futuristic, robotic woman” with skin highlighted in just the right places and a double flick of eyeliner.
Mara Hoffman Gold Tipped Braid
Whoever said braids were for lazy hair days? Stylist Nick Irwin for Catwalk by TIGI loosely braided models hair at mid-back then dipped the ends of the braid into super shiny gold hairspray. Talk about making an exit!
Two Toned Nails at Nicole Miller
The two toned nails spotted at Nicole Miller were right on trend for fall. Lead manicurist Katie Jane Hughes first used Butter London “Union Black Jack” followed by a matte topcoat. Next she brushed Butter London “Knees Up” from the cuticle almost to the tip.
Jason Wu Sculpted Cheeks
“Softer glamour” was the vibe at Jason Wu. Makeup artist Diane Kendal went for very little makeup and instead focused on strong brows and super sculpted cheeks.
Burgundy Lips at Rebecca Minkoff
The look at Rebecca Minkoff was “mod maven” thanks to bold burgundy lips done in Stila Stay All Day Lips in “Amore”. We have makeup artist Sarah Lucero to thank for perfecting and continuing the burgundy lip trend!
2/20: CHIC ICON: Faye Dunaway

The inspiration behind the collection
“Wild and untamed” is the inspiration behind the Hervé Leger Fall 2014 collection. We’re imagining dark, stormy colors and unconventional cuts! Catch the show February 8th at THEATRE, 2 pm.
For this designer, life is a journey! Mara has said she “drew inspiration from Northern Africa and all of the textiles, jewelry, and elements of nature picked up along the way.” Catch the show February 8th at SALON, 3 pm.

Award season is officially here! We saw many gorgeous looks from music’s biggest night, the Grammy Awards. Here are our top 5 looks of the night.
Per usual, Beyonce was unstoppable at last night’s award show. After the sultry songstress opened the show with her performance of “Drunk in Love”, she looked like the ultimate cool-girl in perfectly undone waves and a deep bordeaux lip.
Rita Ora’s purple smokey eye was nothing short of mesmerizing! The singer traded her signature red lip for a subtle, nude shade and her brows were perfection.
Ciara glowed on the red carpet. The mom-to-be wore her hair in a loose up-do with plenty of face framing strands. Her makeup was simple and natural with a gorgeous shimmery lip.
Louise Roe looked gorgeous in bouncy side-swept curls and ultra flirty lashes. A nude lip completed the look as well as her heavily rimmed eyes.
Taylor Swift kept her hair simple in a laid-back pony. With a touch of metallic in her inner eye corner and a silver smokey eye, she looked every bit polished.

10/24- CHIC PICKS: Moisturizing Products for Winter
10/31-Breast Cancer Awareness Month at CHIC
We love Fashion Week because it allows to us to travel all over the world and get a glimpse at trends across the globe! We all know French women have that….”je ne sais quoi”, that extra something chic and alluring. Here are our top beauty trends from the Paris S/S 2014 runway.
BARELY THERE MAKEUP
Models at Jean Paul Gaultier represented the perfectly laid back, downtown chic it-girl thanks to makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds. Barely there makeup and effortless hair complimented the leather-clad, rocker ensembles.
The feminine, understated looks seen at Chloe are compliments of Diane Kendal for MAC. Faces were left nearly bare and lids were neutral with the slightest hint of gloss. Hair was also simple, straight and gorgeously thick.
METALLIC GOLD EYES
Tom Pecheux for MAC is the mastermind behind this rich yet wearable Maiyet look. He washed the entire lid with MAC Eyeshadows in Golden Goddess and Platinum Love then placed gold pigment on the inner and outer corners for extra drama.
The “brocaded gold brows” at Dior glittered as bright as 14k gold! Makeup extraordinaire Pat McGrath took metallics to the next level, covering models’ brows in glue which she then topped with gold pigment and glitter. You can always count on Dior for high fashion!
Stephane Marais combined punk edge and girly glamour at Haider Ackermann. Heavy black winged liner was topped with chunky black glitter for bold, “look at me” cat-eyes.
The makeup at Givenchy had everyone talking at Paris Fashion Week! 12 hours of work went into Pat McGrath‘s crystal and sequin masks. But it was well worth the hours — the looks outshone even the front-row lineup of major stars and fashionistas!
Want to see what CHICSTUDIOS was up to at Brooklyn Fashion Week? Here are some behind the scenes snapshots. Our team was lead by key makeup artist Ninaand lead makeup artist Lala. We are so proud of their accomplishments!
10/17: Halloween Makeup We Love
10/24: CHIC PICKS – Products to keep your skin/lips healthy & moisturized during winter
As one Carrie Bradshaw once said: “Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future. This is known as Fashion Week”. While the week of excitement is winding down in our beloved city, we thought we would recap some of our favorite makeup looks and hair trends seen on the runway.
Oversized flower crowns are so last season! Take a cue from HONOR and think delicate hair accessories for spring 2014. HONOR added interest to low, wavy ponys by pinning romantic, dainty flowers into models’ manes for a touch of iridescence.
Several designers channeled ‘60s French film stars with Bardot-inspired hair. Locks were teased full of volume yet still ultra shiny at Tory Burch and gathered into side ponys at Pamella Roland. Très effortlessly sexy!
White eye makeup
White eye makeup was white hot on the runway this year! Several designers including Altazurra, Kate Spade and Tibi chose white eye shadow to make models’ eyes pop. We love the fresh idea and it goes to show that smokey eye makeup is not needed to make eyes stand out.
It’s no surprise that berry lips were a major trend on the runway this week. Models at Nicole Miller flaunted the perfect plum shade. This fall, play with hues of raspberry, oxblood, or plum!
Cushnie et Ochs brought all out edgy glamour to the runway with glossy pewter lids. We think this is the perfect way to take your smokey eye to the next level!
What were your favorite trends on the S/S 2014 runway?
