10/24- CHIC PICKS: Moisturizing Products for Winter

10/31-Breast Cancer Awareness Month at CHIC

We love Fashion Week because it allows to us to travel all over the world and get a glimpse at trends across the globe! We all know French women have that….je ne sais quoi, that extra something chic and alluring. Here are our top beauty trends from the Paris S/S 2014 runway.

Models at Jean Paul Gaultier represented the perfectly laid back, downtown chic it-girl thanks to makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds. Barely there makeup and effortless hair complimented the leather-clad, rocker ensembles.

The feminine, understated looks seen at Chloe are compliments of Diane Kendal for MAC. Faces were left nearly bare and lids were neutral with the slightest hint of gloss. Hair was also simple, straight and gorgeously thick.

Tom Pecheux for MAC is the mastermind behind this rich yet wearable Maiyet look. He washed the entire lid with MAC Eyeshadows in Golden Goddess and Platinum Love then placed gold pigment on the inner and outer corners for extra drama.

The “brocaded gold brows” at Dior glittered as bright as 14k gold! Makeup extraordinaire Pat McGrath took metallics to the next level, covering models’ brows in glue which she then topped with gold pigment and glitter. You can always count on Dior for high fashion!

Stephane Marais combined punk edge and girly glamour at Haider Ackermann. Heavy black winged liner was topped with chunky black glitter for bold, “look at me” cat-eyes.

The makeup at Givenchy had everyone talking at Paris Fashion Week! 12 hours of work went into Pat McGrath‘s crystal and sequin masks. But it was well worth the hours — the looks outshone even the front-row lineup of major stars and fashionistas!

Want to see what CHICSTUDIOS was up to at Brooklyn Fashion Week? Here are some behind the scenes snapshots. Our team was lead by key makeup artist Ninaand lead makeup artist Lala. We are so proud of their accomplishments!

10/24: CHIC PICKS – Products to keep your skin/lips healthy & moisturized during winter

The latest beauty trend? Heavy metal! Not the rock and roll kind, rather bold metallic makeup in shades of silver, gold, bronze and even pops of bright colors for the most daring. Major makeup artists like Peter Philips for Chanel and Pat McGrath for Versace are embracing this trend on the runway as well as Hollywood’s hottest stars on the red carpet. Whether you choose a subtle shine or all out glitz, metallics pop on every skin tone!

With our CHIC STUDIOS New Year’s Eve Style Guide and post on how to throw the perfect New Year’s bash, there’s no doubt that you rang in 2013 fabulously! The glitzy holiday may be over, but it’s no excuse to lose your fashion-forward motivations now! Make sure to stay chic and take note of the 5 huge trends of this season.

This winter, velvet has made a comeback! The soft-feeling fabric has always been associated with a rich and luxurious appearance. It has been seen on countless celebs, in designer collections and even on Miss Universe winner, Olivia Culpo, when she won the pageant! If you’re petite, velvet can make you appear bulky. Don’t let that make you avoid this sumptuous trend- opt for velvet accents or accessories instead.

Now this is a trend we love for post-holiday season. Hide your gingerbread house and pie filled tummies with a huge sweater! I’m not talking about stepping out in an oversized sweater with sweatpants and scrunchies- this cozy staple can look fashion-forward and chic. Balance the bulk of heavy knits with slim or short bottoms, like skinny jeans, leather leggings or a mini skirt. Add some glam shoes and costume jewelry and you’re good to go!

3.    24K Gold Lips

If you can’t afford diamonds, go for the gold! Gold lips are hot this season- A gold gloss can be worn alone or over a favorite lipstick to create a warm and shimmery effect. The metallic color will make you feel like a million bucks and add instant femininity, sparkle and glamor to your face.

4.    Winter White

The snow may start to melt soon, but that shouldn’t stop you from shying away from this winter trend. Forget the outdated “you can’t wear white after Labor Day” cliché fashion rule. The winter white trend is your friend and will make you look white hot. This trend is embracing the color of the snowy season! Celebrities like Miranda Kerr and J. Lo have been spotted in all white outfits.

The idea of purple hair may seem a little silly and a risk only to be taken on Halloween, but it is indeed a new trend! Purple hair comes in many shades, such as lavender, lilac and even magenta. Many starts have dared to rock it, but do you? Katy Perry, Kelly Osbourne and Azealia Banks have all embraced it, while some other stars, like Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato, have dip-dyed, ombred and streaked their hair in this pastel color. Don’t want to commit to a crazy hue? Use hair chalk or temporary dye for a not-so-permanent ‘do!

Continue 2013 looking fabulous & try some of these hot winter trends! Make sure to check out our FacebookTwitterPinterest & website!

The holiday season is all about the shimmer. You can go the bronze route like Jennifer Lawrence or glam it up in silver a la J.Lo.

Let your lips take center stage in an attention-grabbing plum color. Pair it with a simple eye and you’ll knock ‘em dead!

Celebrities have been rocking this cut lately! Face-framing layers and a shorter length are flattering and fashion-forward.

So there you have it!  The hottest holiday beauty trends that will have you looking like a red-carpet celebrity. When will you be wearing these looks?

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2012

Victoria’s Secret really knows how to kick off the holiday season! Each year they bring the glitz and glamour of the “Sexiest Night on Television” with enough diamonds, Swarovski crystals and glitter for a small, well tanned, toned, extensioned army.
This year’s show, complete with six themed sections, began with a “Circus” theme, which featured acrobats, contortionists, jugglers and sword-swallowers. Other themes were: Dangerous Liaisons, Calendar Girls, PINK Is Us, Silver Screen Angels, and Angels in Bloom. Lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux guided his team of at least 25 makeup artists to create the flawless faces of the Victoria’s Secret Angels. You can even snag the nail colors worn on the runway because they are Victoria’s Secret Polishes! “Bitten” is the sheer, pink nude seen on the catwalk and the more glittery “Peep Show” is the bolder pink chosen for the Pink brand models. Stocking stuffers anyone?

Adriana Lima opened the show dressed as a va-va voom ringleader
